LV2 Olympics: Fitness Freaks Wins First Gold Medal

Hyderabad, 26-Jan-2014, LV2 News bureau
Fitness Freaks won the first Gold medal and Healthy Hawks, its first Silver medal of LV2 Olympics in a scintillating Tennis match between Greeshma (Healthy Hawks) and Sidharth (Fitness Freaks)

The match was initially dominated by Greeshma taking a quick 3-0 lead with some of the good and powerful forehand and backhand ground strokes. At this stage it appeared that Greeshma is running away to win the match, but Sidharth kept his cool and came back strongly to level the match and then take the lead at 4-3. After that it was an evenly contested match with both players playing cautiously to level the score at 6-6. Sidharth grew in confidence after levelling the match and was in a great momentum to dominate the tie breaker taking early lead. Greeshma looked a little tired and a bit nervous and made some unforced errors making it easy for Sidharth to clinch the tie breaker and the match.

Strengths:
Greeshma: Ability to generate good power in ground strokes, especially forehand
Sidharth: Ability to cover the court and return the ball

Improvements:
Sidharth & Greeshma:
  • Need to improve service
  • Need to minimize unforced errors

Overall it was a good tennis match and both Sidharth and Greeshma played very well to the best of their abilities. Wish you both good luck and you have the potential to achieve many more medals in the future.

Thanks to the Tennis coach Shankar sir and our Tennis patron Bhaskar for the overall Tennis initiatives in the colony and providing a good platform for the kids to excel and display better quality of tennis.

Lastly thanks to the entire sports loving LV2 community for participating, encouraging and promoting sports and making LV2 a better place to live in.

  1. Great match. Remarkable fighting spirit. Wonderful show by kids. Thanks to Sridhar, Bhaskar and coach Shankar. My message to parents is - encourage kids in to more & mores sports, for them to have better/healthy life down the line. Sports exposure is the best legacy that we can give to our kids.
